  • Hi Caroline-

I have been working on the information you provided and have much to tell you.

Currently I have located a possible first wife for Hollie, as well as a total of 4 other children besides James b 1810.

Please contact me about what you have on Hollie.

  • Hey, does anybody know where the Col John Ervin Family Bible is? It was supposedly in the possession of Mrs. Sarah Sullivan Ervin in 1949, but I'm not sure where it is now. It's a priceless family source of information. Col John Ervin was born March 25, 1754 and died June 1, 1810. Col. John Ervin commanded Brittons Neck Brigade of Marion's Army during the revolutionary war.. He wrote the "History of the Ervins" in the "John Ervin Bible"

  • Bill,
Can't help as I never heard of Theodrick. Unusual name and I would have remembered that one.

  • I'm sure the Last William you have listed was William Stanhope Erwin the 3rd. He Married Cleon Burns and they had seveal Children I only know the names of two son: Harry crawford Erwin, and William Stanhope Erwin the 4th. William S. Erwin the 4th died at a young age from Typhoid. Harry C. Erwin Married Annie Louise Withrow they had 3 Children Harry Erwin Jr, William Stanhope Erwin the 5th, and Pamela Erwin. William "Stan" Stanhope Erwin is the only living sibling as my Aunt Amy stated. William "Stan" Erwin had a Son whom he Named William "Bill" Stanhope Erwin the 6th, who had my brother William "Will" Stanhope Erwin the 7th.

I love the Erwin history and I want to say William Stanhope Erwin the 3rd also had a son name Alexadner as well. I do know that Alexander is a family name carried over from Scotland dating back to the early 1500s.

If you are interested I have a awesome Website of the Erwin family. http://www.irvineclan.com/drum.htm

  • Hi Carol,

How exciting! I'm heading home from vacation tomorrow, so hopefully I can provide more information soon. Most of the records not on my computer are in a storage unit right now, but I will dig them up. I can tell you that I got the name Hawley Ervin from my aunt, who says she found that name on a record about 25 years ago. I got the name Anne Bowman from a fellow researcher. I hope you've seen the picture I posted of James and Rebecca.

I'd love to hear about what you've found!

  • Caroline,

Email without the use of the message board. What I have is quite long (over 14 pages printed) and I think the easiest way to send you the information will be via family group sheets.

Secondly I would still like to know what the document was that said Holley was father of James.
