* Notice this is his second marriage. I found this listing for a William Ervin on Find A Grave in Earlham Cemetery in Wayne County that lists his birth date as 1859 and death date of Aug 10, 1915. The stone also shows a wife, Margaret F who looks to be born 1863 and died 1899, 1 year prior to the second marriage referenced above. This could be our William and his first wife. I also found this death record that seems to fit as well.

She Is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Lucy Edna Winter of Monmouth, HI., Mrs. Naomi Ruth Wear of Rome City, Ind., and Mrs. Martha E. Claybrook of Pasadena; two sons, William Heenen Ervin of Long Beach and Henry Alfred Ervin of Napa lalif.; one brother, . Daniel Lester Muffley Jr., nine grand children and five great-grand children.
